Monday 12th December found Stormfront helping Samaritan College to stage
their annual Prize Night at Whyalla's Middleback Arts Centre.
Providing Entry Music for attendees in the Theatre foyer our
Senior Band Ensemble kept everyone entertained with a
slick and fun setlist of songs and styles.
Stormfront for several years now has also been Sponsor of the College's annual
Excellence in Music Performance Award - recognising a student for their
outstanding commitment to, and talent in the field of Performing Arts.
In 2022 the Stormfront Award For Music Performance was accepted by
Year 9 student (and Stormfront student) Katie Stott.
Katie's Introduction says it all....
"Katie showcases what it means to combine talent, dedication and a passion for music.
Her abilities to sing, play and write music continue to grow exponentially, and she's
constantly now being seen performing in her church community, across Whyalla,
and anywhere Samaritan College can provide a stage!
Last year she starred as one of the "Narrators" in the College production of "Joseph" -
and she's been a proud and prominent student of Samaritan music mentors
Stormfront Productions for quite a while now.
This year has seen her performing on the MAC stage to rave reviews at Samaritan Spectacular -
and just weeks ago she impressed us all still further at Samaritan Shines.
As 2022 draws to a close she has an album's worth of outstanding Original songs she plans to start
recording during the coming Summer holidays - and we hope to assist that project as as we
present the Stormfront Award For Music Performance to KATIE STOTT!"
Katie also provided the ceremony's Feature Music Performance and brought the house down
playing & singing the very apt Cimorelli hit song "You're Worth It".
Also presented on the night were the 2022 "Excellence In Band" awards for
outstanding Instrumentalists participating in this year's Samaritan School Band Programme.
